7- day- Water Tour in the Ukrainen

The Tour is offered to private groups or friends’ societies who have no time for the 7 days’ Tour in the Ukrainien. As the river is not controlled paddling on can offer you a spectacular sight of the Sub- Carpathian landscape, with its swallow, totally clear water. The reaches of the Tisza between Bustyaháza and Tiszabecs can be ridden by canoes quite secure. One experienced steersperson is required in every single canoe. Private groups can choose this Tour as an introduction of any other tours of us in Hungary or others can choose it on one of the departing days. As an average of 70 km is supposed to paddle each day, you must be a sporty type to join.

Duration: 7 days, 6 nights

Total length: 129 km

Route: Tiszabecs, Bustyaháza (by bus), Huszt (25 km), Nagyszőlős (20 km), Tiszabecs (25 km), Szatmárcseke (24 km), Tivadar (15 km), Gergelyiugornya (20 km)

A planned schedule:

Day 1.  Arrival on ’Vidám Delfin Kemping” (Happy Dolphin Campsite), Tiszabecs. Social evening, campfire after dinner.

Day 2.  Early morning breakfast, packing, border cross at Bustyaháza. Paddling instructions. Water trip on soft wild water reach of the Upper- Tisza (which is still available for canoes and not only rubber boats) until reaching Huszt. Campsite on the nomadic slope of the mountain.

Day 3.  Water trip from Huszt to Nagyszőlős.

Day 4 Water trip from Nagyszőlős to Tiszabecs, paddling near beautiful rocks and cliffs of the mountain range. Border cross on the river which is temporary for us (-allowed only for the ones who apply for the Tour at least 60 days before the start!)

Day 5: Water trip on the Upper- Tisza, paddling between the unique pebbled banks of Tiszabecs and Szatmárcseke. Route: 24 r. km. Return journey.

Day 6: Water trip from Szatmárcseke to Tivadar, the Tiszanian ’Las Vegas’ which is the most eye- catching spot of the Tisza. In every 2 kilometre, every bend, spectacular sandy shores display tourists and bathers; therefore live music awaits people on the beach at night. Day distance: 15 r.km

Day 7:  Water- trip from Tivadar to Gergelyiugornya. This is the largest open- bath of the Tisza, the most popular one among the young. Sandy shore, a lot of bathing facilities available as the previous day. Day distance: 20 r.km. Return journey privately or organized to the nearby railway station. If required, we can start a bus to Tiszabecs for them who have arrived to the base campsite by car.

Participation fee: 28.500 HUF (deposit of 40%). The sum consists of the fees of campsite and accomodation for 2 days, meals two times a day (where available), charge of kayak/ canoe, the costs of their and your luggage’s land  carriage,the rent of the equipments (life jackets as well), charge of temporary border cross and fees of the guides and instructors.

Applicants for the Ukrainen Water Tour when paying deposit are required the following: Name, Address, Passport number, Date of birth.

Departing days: 19 - 25 June, 17 – 23 June, 07- 13 August 2010

Optional programmes in the Ukrainen: voyage to the Black Tisza, source of The River (by bus then military jeeps GAZ 66); visit to the ruins of Castle Huszt; a short rest at the Memorial ’Centre of Europe’; watching the two rivers’ union: the White Tisza and the Black Tisza.
