Paddling
through the River Túr and the River ’Old- Túr’
(Garbolc- Nagyar)
We offer it for the adventurous types who are keen on
exploring the reaches of both rivers in Hungary.
River Túr is relatively rectilinear so you can
paddle on it quite easily. In addition, River ’Old-Túr” is an extremely
romantic, safe water, at a medium depth up to your waist. Bended, fell- in
trees, the untouched flora and fauna and reeds make it unique.
Duration:
7 days, 6 nights.
A
planned schedule:
Day 1: After arriving at Vidám Delfin Kemping
(Happy Dolphin Campsite), guided preparation to the tour, paddling
instructions, social evening, etc.
Day 2: Travelling to Garbolc, water trip on the
(controlled) River Túr up to the dam „Kisbukó”, Sonkád.
Day 3: Water trip from Sonkád to Kölcse, paddling on the swallow and
romantic ’Old -Túr”.
Day 4: Water trip from Kölcse to Túristvándi, place
of the famous water mill.
Day 5: Resting day. Biking to the local sights: the
remembrance house of the great Hungarian writer Móricz Zsigmond and bellfries
in Tiszacsécse; the outstanding wooden- headboarded cemetery in Szatmárcseke,
graveyard of Kölcsey, author of our national anthem; the ’Petőfi tree”, Nagyar
(under which our world- famous poet wrote one of his great poems).
Day 6: Water trip from Túristvándi to Nagyar
Day 7: Resting day, bathing, return journey.
Private groups can require this offer in two ways:
- While
your accomodation is at Vidám Delfin Kemping, Tiszabecs, you can get to
the river either by bike or by bus each day.
- You
start from Garbolc and paddling on the rivers you reach campsites at night stations or illicit
campsites to spend the nights.
Participation
fee: 23.750 HUF (deposit of 40%). The sum consists of
the fees of campsite and accomodation for 6 days, meals two times a day
(breakfast and a two- course dinner), charge of kayak/ canoe or bikes, the
costs of their and your luggage’s land
carriage from places where paddling back home may be difficult, fees of
the guides and instructors.
