Water Ride in Hungary
The reaches of the River Hernád between Hidasnémeti and
Tiszaújváros provide you a great opportunity of exploring the North- Eastern
territory of Hungary. As several lift overs are required during the tour,
experienced types are welcomed now.

length: 130 km
A
planned schedule:
Day 1: Arrival on Hidasnémeti,
meeting at a pre- fixed time on the river bank.
Day 2. Teaching how to paddle,
then water trip from Hidasnémeti to Hernádcéce, touching Vizsoly (home of the
Bible translated to Hungarian for the first time) in the meantime. Lift over in
Hernádcéce, then paddling back to the campsite (75 r.km).
Day 3: Water trip from Hernádcéce to Felsődobsza,
lift over at Gibrát weir (barrage). 21 r.km.
Day 4: Water trip from Felsődobsza to Geszthely campsite, visiting a
typical bellfry int he meantime in Nagykinizs. 29 r.km.
Day 5: Water trip from
Geszthely to the mouth (estuary) of the rivers Hernád and sajó. Lift over at
Bős weir. Arriving at Köröm campsite.
Day 6. Water trip from Köröm to Kesznyéteny (21
r.km).
Day 7: Water trip from
Kesznyéteny to Tiszaújváros (throughout the estuary of the Tisza), up till
reaching r.km stone 485. Daily length 17 r.km). Return journey.
Participation
fee: 24.400 HUF (deposit of 40%). The sum consists of
the fees of campsite and accomodation for 6 days, meals two times a day
(breakfast and a two- course dinner), charge of kayak/ canoe or bikes, the
costs of their and your luggage’s land
carriage, fees of the guides and instructors
Departing
days: For a minimum of 25 people (as a private group),
any time!
