Gastronomy Weekend in Tiszabecs

On our Water Tour you can enjoy both paddling on two romantic rivers: the Old- Túr and the Upper- Tisza and try several food and drink specialities of the area as well.

During the ’Bike- version’ of this tour you are shown the historical and cultural sights of the region, e.g.: Milota, home of the nut; Tiszacsécse, protestant church and birth place of the great Hungarian writer Zsigmond Móricz and a wooden bellfry; Tiszakóród: the dam; Szatmárcseke: Kölcsey memorial (great poet of our national anthem) and the wooden head boarded cemetery (unique in the world); Túristvándi, water mill.

Program:

Day 1: Arrival on Vidám Delfin Kemping (Happy Dolphin Campsite), dinner, which is bean soup with cabbage, doughnut filled with Szatmár plum jam)

Day 2: In the morning: paddling instructions, chose the canoe, water trip from the dam ’kisbukó’, Sonkád to the local countryside museum, Kölcse on the river Old Túr. From the afternoon on, pig roasting. Party time.

Day 3: Water trip on the Upper- Tisza, paddling between the unique pebbled banks of Tiszabecs and Szatmárcseke. Route: 24 r. km. Return journey.

Duration: 3 days, 2 nights

Length: 11+24 r. km

Route: Sonkád- Kölcse (11 km), Tiszabecs- Szatmárcseke (24 r. km)

Participation fee: 15.300 HUF (deposit of 40%). The sum consists of the fees of campsite and accomodation for 2 days, meals (local foods) two times a day (breakfast and a two- course dinner), charge of kayak/ canoe or bikes, the costs of their and your luggage’s land  carriage from places where paddling back home may be difficult, fees of the guides and instructors.

If accomodation in the guest house, the price is 19.800 HUF.
