Aristocratic Water Tour on the River Tisza

The river shores between Tiszabecs and Dombrád are offered both for advanced paddlers and near beginners as well. Being rich in ’golden sand’ this reach of the river is suitable for people who prefer bathing and having fun besides paddling. Fed up with lacking your bed and pitching tent every day? You love water tours but hate camping lifestyle? Guests are given accomodation in motels, one or two starred guest housse or unique cottage houses.

Duration: 7 days, 6 nights.

Total length: 152 km.

Route: Tiszabecs - Szatmárcseke (24 km), Tivadar (15 km), Gergelyiugornya (20 km), Tiszamogyorós (34 km), Tuzsér (34 km), Dombrád (25 km).

A planned schedule:

Day 1: After arriving at Vidám Delfin Kemping (Happy Dolphin Campsite), paddling instructions, dinner, social evening, etc.

Day 2: Water trip from Tiszabecs to Szatmárcseke, on the upper flow of the Tisza. From Tiszabecs on, pebbled shores are existing so the water is absolutely clear there. The first Hungarian sand shore can be found in Szatmárcseke. Daily reach: 24 r.km.

Day 3: Water trip from Szatmárcseke to Tivadar, the Tiszanian ’Las Vegas’ which is the most eye- catching spot of the Tisza. In every 2 kilometre, every bend, spectacular sandy shores display tourists and bathers; therefore live music awaits people on the beach at night. Day distance: 15 r.km

Day 4: Water- trip from Tivadar to Gergelyiugornya. This is the largest open- bath of the Tisza, the most popular one among the young. Sandy shore, a lot of bathing facilities available as the previous day. Day distance: 20 r.km

Day 5: Water tour from Gergelyiugornya to Tiszamogyorós. Although a bit more paddling is required, having lots of fun is still provided now. Day distance: 34 r.km

Day 6: Water trip to Tuzsér, on the Hungarian- Ukrainen and partly Slovakian bordering waters of the Tisza. Day distance: 34 r.km.

Day 7: Water trip from Tuzsér to Dombrád, one of the most popular open bath of the area. Day distance: 25 r.km. Return journey privately or organized to the nearby railway station. If required, we can start a bus to Tiszabecs for them who have arrived to the base campsite by car.

Participation fee: 41.750 HUF (deposit of 40%). The sum consists of the fees of the guesthouse or the motel and accomodation for 6 days, meals two times a day (breakfast and a two- course dinner), charge of kayak/ canoe or bikes, the costs of their and your luggage’s land carriage, fees of the guides and instructors.

Single bed additional charge: 16.800 HUF

Departing days: 05- 11 June, 19- 25 June, 26 June- 02 July, 10- 16 July, 17- 23 July, 31 July - 06 August, 07- 13 August, 21- 27 August 2010
